Last Weekend vs. This Weekend

So... last weekend we had a great time, first going to the Middlesex County 4-H Fair.
I'd been a 4-H member when I was a kid and the fair was always an highlight to the end of summer (even though, the dreaded opening of school was in the offing).
This years fair was entertaining enough, but I was disappointed by the lack of livestock to view. Where there might have been 40 or so cows when I was a kid, there were only half a dozen. The sheep seemed to be holding their own but the goats were far fewer than they had been. Chickens of all sorts and rabbits seemed to be abundant. We had a good time. Sylvia got distressed when the camera batteries gave out... but that gave us a chance to look over the exhibits unencumbered.
The Sunday, we went to the North End to see St. Anthony's Feast. After a good lunch (2 appetizers and a bottle of wine $100 !!!) we followed the saint around as he collected garlands of money and the marching bands followed. Wonderfully, casual marching bands... when there was a stop the tuba player would find somewhere to sit, while the bass drum was propped on a shopping trolley and they'd all play in different directions.
Fast forward through a week of painting and moving artwork...
Saturday... Sylvia's working and I'm doing errands and trying to clean up the place. Sunday, I head out for a walk and end up in the Peoples Republik for a good chat with some friends. Back for a nice dinner and we fall asleep trying to watch a movie.
This morning I noticed that my "everyday" bag had been dumped out and wasn't around. A further search found our two old Nikon film cameras missing... looking some more, the change jar on my bureau (pennies, nickels and dimes)and the silver bunny bank from Syl's (quarters) are gone. In the process of calling the cops to file a report Sylvia discovers that they'd taken her credit cards. Filed the report. Syl called the credit card companies and found that the crooks had used one card to the tune of $700... Including a stop at Dunkin'Donuts !!!!
Now that they know what's here we're scared that they might come back... and we're supposed to go on holiday in a couple of weeks ???
